About Us
All About Georgina, Celeste & GeccoBagsGecco bags was set up in 2007, by Georgina and Celeste to supply a range of useful shopping bags. Between them they have over 50 years experience within business and marketing environments, as well as, more importantly, over 60 years shopping experience.
They both wanted to switch to reusable shopping bags but were frustrated with what was available. Nothing was quite right - the shopping bags were either too big, too small, too unfashionable, not durable enough .... they could go on. So, they decided to do something about it and spent some time looking at what types of shopping bags were available around the world. That was when they found it - a really clever type of shopping bag, perfect for all types of shopping. They were really chuffed this was a shopping bag that ticked all the boxes! But, rather than just buy a couple of shopping bags for themselves they thought lets share this as the shopping bags had been hard to find in the first place. Thus, Gecco bags was born.
Celeste has a strong background in business and currently owns and runs an IT company. She has a grown up son, Marco. Work and family demands mean Celeste's shopping style tends to be irregular and spontaneous:
"Sometimes, I want to whizz round the shops for that evening's meal and a bottle of wine. Other times, I like to stock up on a couple of weeks of shopping which might include a large proportion of frozen produce. My Gecco bags are great shopping bags because I can just leave them in the back of the car, so they're always there when I need them. They are also a fantastic size, which makes it so much easier when it comes to loading and unloading the car. These shopping bags are very large and the handles make them easy to carry from the the car. I have been amazed at how many people stop me and ask me where I got the shoppoing bags from!" - Celeste Hayward
Georgina's background is in marketing. She was working from home as a freelance media analyst but is now a schools exams administrator, whilst looking after her wild 4 -year old twin daughters. Georgina is a big weekly shopper but shopping with toddlers is no easy task:
"I have to get my shopping done in the shortest possible time - otherwise, it's tantrums, fights, hair-pulling, constant demands for cake and generally wild behaviour - and that's just from my partner! It's vital that I get through check-out in the shortest possible time. I love my Gecco shopping bags because I can just attach them to my trolley and chuck everything in. It's so much quicker. I also think the shopping bags look really cool which is an added bonus!" - Georgina Tuson
